Beware Of How You Speak And How You Act!

Yesterday I was very moved by an article about the boy who died of dengue fever? It was not about he dying of dengue fever but rather about his lifestyle in school that even his parent did not know about. The new paper wrote about how he had led a selfless life while in school. He would stay back to help his fellow classmates who were slow or had difficulties understanding their studies. Not only helping his fellow students, he set the example of a role model by encouraging them to try to do well in their studies. Did you read that at times he would stay until late in the night just to help his fellow classmates?

Let me tell you this. In my many years of teaching, I had yet to see such a selfless student. Most of the time, it is about students who would “break” my heart. Just a few days ago, probably most of you may not know of an incident that happen in one of our lab. There was a class going on in one of the lab and because there were some spare computers, so a group from another class was given the permission to use the spare computer. No I wasn’t there, but I was told of what happen in there. Somehow there was some raising of voices in the beginning between the 2 classes. And all of a sudden, one group of boys just dash to one of the boy from the other class and start whacking him, literally whack! Worst still, one of the boys tried taking a chair and wanted to whack the boy and thankfully, my colleagues were there and quickly pull the group apart. This is how students are reacting without much thought of the consequences. Imagine, if that boy was badly injured, it will be a police case and the record will go with them for life. Why are our youngsters reacting like that? This also happen to the class that I am taking over temporary. They had a bad habit of insulting one another with words, though making it sound like a joke. But I can tell you, that such words at times will just push the whole scenario to a situation where fight will just break up.

To all my young readers, learn to have a little tolerance in both words that are uttered and in the way you carry yourself. To you it may sound cool, but I can tell you, it may one day cause great harm not only to yourself, but also to your friends, and even to your family. Spare a thought for them!!!
